“Humility without skill, a lodge without salt, 

Without memory, a useless burden.”

In the above line, the poet has tried to explain the path to success through various experiences to achieve life’s achievements.

No matter how much expertise, skill, knowledge a person has, but without humility, all this is incomplete and meaningless. Humility makes that knowledge more influential and sharp. For example, because of Gandhiji’s humble nature, people could ask their questions to Gandhiji without hesitation and Gandhiji also tried to resolve those questions with great respect, that is why even today people remember his works and respect him.

Food may be nutritious, but if it is tasteless or tasteless, it cannot give satisfaction. Similarly, if there is no goal in life, it seems meaningless and dark. Dreams that have been cherished give a person constant inspiration to realize them with passion. Therefore, the destination where one wants to reach should be definite. Even if one has to walk on a difficult path to reach that destination, then even that struggle gives inner happiness and satisfaction of effort. Otherwise, a journey without a destination is just a wandering path. It is a wandering of the mind.

Thus, expertise without humility, food without salt, and life without ambition or dreams are actually burdensome.
