Subject: Cleanliness Drive and needful measure for better outcome in XY Municipality Respected Sir,

With respect to cited subject, I would like to thank you for the support in launching cleanliness campaign in XY municipality under “Swachh Bharat” mission. Following is the update till now after launch of drive.

1. Door to door garbage and waste collection has been regularized with identified agency.

2. Cleaning of drainage lines and removal of plastic waste from choked lines is completed in 3 out of 5 wards with advance machineries received under CSR funds.

3. Identification of critical zones for night sweeping is completed.

We have accomplished major benchmarks but to increase sustainable practice and habit, we need to work ensuring public participation and citizen engagement. Following measure can be adopted under our on-going drive to make it more impactful.

1. City beautification i.e. wall paintings in public walls, iconic places. Various IEC activities promoting waste segregation practices, home composting can be organized.

2. Special training sessions for sanitation workers on effective waste collection practices and safety measure for them.

3. Nominate “Swachchata Ambassadors” from public domains such as Doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, Architects, Social Servants, Social Media Influencers to connect with residents and periodically evaluate the progress with them.

In field visits, people praised and showed interest in supporting our cleanliness campaign. Suggested measures are given after multiple interactions with concerned stakeholders. Its’ implementation will lead to more outcomes in our drive.
