Apart from this, these relations are also important to balance the presence of China in the region. Strong relations with the UAE are essential for India’s membership in regional groups like GCC and OIC etc. and for free trade agreements.

→ Economic Importance: The UAE is a major source of foreign money in the form of remittances for India. With investments in various sectors, the UAE is the third largest trading partner of India. In addition, access to African markets is also possible through the UAE.
