- Various differences of opinion :
- Native to Europe: According to scholars like William Jones, Nering Steppe, Giles and Hungary, Schroeder and France, the original habitat of the Aryans was Europe.
- They saw some similarities in various languages like Greek, Latin, German, Gothic, Sanskrit etc. and based on this they showed that the Aryans lived in Europe north of the Black Sea, from where they migrated to India.
- Resident of Central Asia: According to scholars like Max Muller and Mayer Herzfeld, the Aryans were native to Central Asia.
- He compared the Parsi scripture ‘Avesta’ and the Aryan scripture ‘Veda’ and based on the similarities found in them, he has estimated that the Aryans came from Central Asia and settled in Iran and India.
- Native of the Arctic: Balgangadhar Tilak has concluded that the Aryans came from the Arctic based on the information about six months of day and six months of night mentioned in the Vedas.
- Native of Tibet: Swami Dayanand Saraswati estimates that they were originally natives of Tibet based on the description given in the Vedas.
- Native of India: Indian historians like Sampurnananda and A.C. Das believe that the Aryans were originally natives of the Indian subcontinent. Based on the information about the region of Samsindhu, yagnas, geographical information etc. found in the Vedas, he estimates that the Aryans were natives of present-day Punjab and surrounding areas.
- Thus, there are still various opinions about the origin of the Aryans, but after considering the various opinions, we can conclude that the Aryans probably came from outside and settled in India.
